Jingle!

Jingle lets you share your musical comments via Twitter

What is Jingle?

Do you ever get into the groove with your music and want to tell someone about it? Ever listen to a great podcast and want to tell your friends? Jingle is a fun (and free!) iPhone application that allows you to share whatever you’re listening to with your followers on Twitter. Jingle works with your iPhone or iPod Touch and allows you to Tweet your favorite music, podcasts and audiobooks.

Getting Started
Jingle works in conjunction with your iPod music player. While listening to your favorite media open the app and select New Jingle. Choose one of the predefined comments or create your own custom Tweet and you’re all set. Once complete, a Twitter posting is created that includes the song title, artist and your comments. If your friends are curious about your “Jingle”, they can preview or even purchase the item using the iTunes link automatically included in your posting.

Other cool stuff
Jingle works as an additional media player by allowing you to play favorite playlists and other media directly from the app. A history of posted Jingles is also available in a separate tab, along with a reminder of your latest Jingle from the default media tab. Any posted Jingle can also be replayed directly from the app.

Why Jingle?
If you like Twittering, posting Jingles is a great bonus for your Twitter audience. Just like other aspects of social media, Jingle can be used as a way for friends, colleagues and other followers to learn about you through music and media.

As you Jingle take a look at your history and reflect on what items interest you. You may be surprised to see your own musical tastes change over time!

Jingle was created as a fun way to explore the fascinating and groundbreaking technology introduced by the iPhone. If you are programmer and are interested in learning more about Jingle, stay tuned for future articles on how the app was planned, designed and implemented.
